Diego joined Orms in March 2019, bringing valuable international perspective from his work on major sports facilities and commercial buildings across three continents. A graduate of Javeriana University and registered architect in Colombia, his experience spans significant global projects including the Al Rayyan Stadium in Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and multi-sports arenas for the Pan American and Parapan American Games in Peru, alongside commercial refurbishment and new-build schemes in Colombia.
What does ultrapractical mean to you? Ultrapractical architecture adapts diverse international expertise to deliver locally relevant solutions. At Orms, I apply this approach as part of the team working on the facades for the refurbishment and extension of 75 London Wall in the City of London, drawing on my varied background in sports facilities and commercial buildings. This cross-cultural perspective enables me to bring fresh insights to the design process, identifying innovative yet practical ways to create spaces that respond to their context while exceeding client expectations and enhancing user experience.
