Work is underway to refurbish and extend SavoyStrand – a 1930s office block occupying a prominent position on 105-109 Strand in Central London and is due for completion in autumn 2020.
Its design includes the addition of a two storey rooftop mansard extension clad in zinc shingles, which will be added along the Strand, and a new three storey brick and stone extension to Savoy Steps.
At the top of each extension, rooftop terraces will provide outdoor amenity space for the office occupiers.
At street level, the ground floor retail façade will be replaced and the office entrance relocated on to the line of the former Savoy Steps, which opens up a view to the rear of the Grade I Queen’s Chapel of The Savoy.
